Southwest Georgia Farm Credit Announces Scholarships for ABAC’s New Agricultural Education Degree at Bainbridge Campus

Southwest Georgia Farm Credit is proud to support the next generation of agricultural educators by offering two scholarships to students pursuing a newly announced bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s (ABAC) Bainbridge campus. The degree, offered through ABAC’s School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, is designed to meet the evolving needs of the agricultural industry –especially in rural communities where farming is a vital economic driver.
“This program is a perfect fit for our region,” said Paxton Poitevint, President and CEO of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. “We believe investing in agricultural education is investing in the future of our communities. These scholarships are a way to help students who are passionate about agriculture and want to make a difference.”
ABAC President Dr. Tracy Brundage echoed the sentiment: “We’re excited to expand our Agricultural Education program to Bainbridge. The support from Southwest Georgia Farm Credit underscores the importance of preparing students for careers that directly impact the sustainability and growth of agriculture in southwest Georgia.”
Two scholarships will be awarded:
- $2000 for the Spring 2026 semester
- $2000 for the Fall 2026-27 school year
To be eligible, students must reside in or have a family farming operation within Southwest Georgia Farm Credit’s 21-county territory and must be enrolled/accepted into the program at the Bainbridge campus at the time of application.
