Southwest Georgia Farm Credit Announces $6.25 Million Patronage Distribution
BAINBRIDGE, GA—Southwest Georgia Farm Credit, a leading provider of agricultural financing solutions, is pleased to announce that it will distribute $6.25 million of its 2025 profits to its valued member-owners. The distribution, which will take place in early April, reflects the association’s strong financial performance and commitment to support the agricultural community in southwest Georgia. Since 1988, the Association has returned $174 million to its members.
The patronage distribution will be paid in the form of cash, providing members with additional financial resources to invest in their operations. This distribution represents a key component of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit’s cooperative structure, which returns a portion of the association’s earnings to its members.
“Returning value to our member-owners Is one of the most meaningful outcomes of a strong financial year,” said Rex LaDon Durham, Chair of the Board of Directors. “This year’s distribution is a direct result of disciplined management, strong financial performance, and the continued engagement of the communities we serve.”
A patronage distribution effectively lowers a members’ cost of borrowing money. This year’s distribution represents a savings of approximately three-quarters of a percent (.75%).
“We remain mindful of the financial realities facing our member-owners today,” said Paxton Poitevint, President and CEO. “Patronage provides practical support while reinforcing the value of cooperative ownership. We are proud to deliver this benefit at a time when steady support is especially important.”
