Following Hurricane,
Donation is Designed
to Help Communities Recover

BAINBRIDGE, GA  – Southwest Georgia Farm Credit and CoBank announced today they will donate $15,000 to United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County, to help residents of the area impacted by Hurricane Michael.

“Agriculture is the backbone of our communities, and the hurricane has touched us all in some way,” said Paxton Poitevint, CEO of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. “The agencies that receive United Way funds truly take care of those in need in our community.

“We’re thankful to CoBank for matching our gift, and for their compassion and generosity in times like these,” Poitevint continued. “As part of the Farm Credit System, CoBank understands that rural communities face unique challenges which are compounded when disaster strikes.”

CoBank is a cooperative bank providing loans, leases, expert financing and other financial services to agribusinesses and rural power, water and communications providers in all 50 states.
